The quarter ended today with record gains. And it appears that the S&P is going to take a run at 960 in July. Today was a good day although profits were lower due to the chop trade off the low of 908.25.

Some People Say I'm Crazy...But It's Alright

Back on March 6th of '09 I was talking to an account executive who was trying to convince me that the markets were on an unstoppable downtrend. I told him that the S&P was making a bottom as we spoke. He laughed at me....

I continued to ask him questions to see if he was a broker I would want to deal with for long term, managed accounts. About a week later I sent him these charts that clearly show a shift in volume and a change in trend.

Needless to say, I didn't open an account with him. In fact I called the CEO of his firm and told her what happened. Naturally the management team was apologetic.

Another Quiet But Profitable Day

Another quiet summer day. But while quiet days can be boring they give you more time to see formations shaping-up with plenty of advance warning.

Is The Rally Over?

A 'choopy top' is what yesterday looked and felt like. Heavy volume and not much directional movement. It will probably 'blow' tomorrow. But this definately looks like the end of this bear rally. While the chop was unbearable, this 12,000 tick chart kept us on the right side of the market and kept the noise very quiet.

This morning's Daily chart supports the idea that this rally is running out of gas and the party is ending.
